Douglas Kennell has nearly 30 years of mortgage industry expertise, having navigated every market cycle since 1997. He built and previously owned his own mortgage brokerage before founding Caritas Mortgage Group with his sons under NEXA Lending to get his clients access to over three hundred lenders. He serves borrowers and realtors across Southwest Florida, specializing in the Cape Coral and Fort Myers area, from Naples and Marco Island up to Venice and Sarasota.

He oversees every file to ensure the same level of quality and attention that defined his brokerage. His deep knowledge of underwriting and loan structure means conditions get cleared efficiently and closings stay on track, so borrowers and realtors get the smooth transaction they deserve.

Garrett co-founded the team alongside Doug after joining his father seven years ago in the family business, designing the team's brand and visual identity. He relocated to Missouri in 2023 to be near his wife's family. He now serves borrowers and realtors across the St. Louis region, specializing in South County, Jefferson County, and Franklin County.

He suggested that the team move to NEXA Lending because it would provide access to the latest technology in mortgage loan origination. Garrett uses that technology to keep the team's systems and operations running seamlessly, so borrowers and realtors can focus on what matters.

Martin has been rooted in Southeast Houston since 2013 and serves all of Houston, specializing in South Houston from Fulshear to Beaumont down to Galveston and Lake Jackson. A former Catholic school principal and educator, he brings two years of mortgage industry experience. As a Marine Corps veteran, he specializes in VA loans and IRRRL refinances.

He likes that NEXA Lending allows the team to provide loan products most brokers don't, such as investment financing, fix-and-flips, hard money, and DSCR. He also enjoys helping clients obtain reverse mortgages and access to down payment assistance programs as well as first-time homebuyer incentives, giving borrowers more pathways to homeownership and helping realtor partners close more files.
