Caritas Mortgage Group is a team within Sovereign Mortgage Investments, a Brokerage based out of DeLand, FL (in the greater Orlando area). The CMG team is made up of Doug Kennell and his two sons, Garrett and Martin. We currently serve the state of Florida, Missouri, and Tennessee.

Doug got started in the mortgage industry over 27 years ago. Watching the extreme highs and lows of the real estate industry, all while providing the same 5-star service that he’s become known for, has provided Doug with a wealth of experience that few others have.

Garrett joined the business in 2018 and has since been working with Doug to ensure the same level of service for our clients. Martin joined the team this year and is our in-house processor.

Caritas is translated literally as Charity or Love. More accurately, it is defined as the love of God above all things and love of neighbor for the sake of God. We hold this as the greatest virtue and do our best to live it out in our daily lives. We chose the name Caritas Mortgage Group because, at the core of our business is our desire to do right by our clients. Our success is derived from our honesty, communication, hard work, and ultimately, our faith.
